Manor Mission

St. Anne’s Parish has been twinned with Manor Mission as part of our outreach program. Manor Mission is a Jesuit mission in Manor started sometime around the year 1969. The mission currently serves the needs of numerous people in Manor

The Jesuit team is making a concerted effort to uplift the lives of the people of the villages by reaching out to assist them in various aspects of their daily life. Some of the facilities provided to the villagers include tailoring classes for women, tutorial classes for children, a hostel for boys, computer labs, as well as scooty riding lessons for girls. In 1971, the Shanti Seva Mandal (SSM) was established with the objective of providing education, medical aid, especially for women and children, and the development of land and environment. Nachni, sweet corn, cashews and coconuts are currently cultivated at the centre, with a focus on increasing the number of fruit trees so as to make the SSM campus an Eco Hub where one will be able to see different kinds of birds, butterflies, flowers and herbal plants. In addition to this, SSM also works towards the preservation and promotion of Adivasi culture, human rights and religious harmony.

As a parish, we are called to support the mission both financially and by providing your valuable time and talents to further the developmental work in progress. In return, the peace and serenity of the mission station has been offered to us for retreats or just to spend some time in silence in the midst of nature.

We hope that the call to mutual exchange of our resources enriches the lives of all who respond to it!
